The X-E4 was announced in late February 2021 and represents Fujifilm’s very lightweight and compact mirrorless camera. It packs the same 26MP sensor found in their other popular cameras like the X-T4 and X-S10. However, it doesn’t have in-body image stabilization like these two cameras, which may be beneficial to some users. That being said, the lack of IBIS makes this the lightest camera in Fuji’s lineup, as it weighs only 12.8 oz or 364 grams.
While the X-E4 doesn’t have a fully-articulating screen, you can tilt it up to face you, making it a great little option for YouTube videos, as well as vlogging. The camera can shoot 4K at up to 30 fps and 1080p at up to 240 fps. Despite the fact that it’s so compact, the camera has a microphone jack, which is very important as it allows you to use an external mic. For anyone who is serious about video recording, we highly suggest investing in an external microphone and with that in mind, let’s check out the best mics for Fujifilm X-E4.
Best Microphones for Fuji X-E4
We’ll be covering a total of four different microphones for the X-E4. All of them have certain unique features and come in at different prices. Without further ado, here are the best mics for Fuji X-E4.
Rode VideoMic NTG
The VideoMic NTG is the most expensive option of the bunch but it also offers the most advanced features. We often suggest this microphone for people who want a great mic and don’t mind paying more for it. It may not make sense for some people, especially if you aren’t working with a high end camera (like the X-E4). With that said, if you’re serious about audio and plan on using this mic for a long time, it comes highly recommended.
Rode VideoMic NTG is made out of aerospace great aluminum and delivers great audio, which is natural and uncolored. It also has a gain control dial, which allows for super smooth gain adjustments. The mic also features a rechargeable battery, a safety channel and a high-pass filter (great for reducing distant noises such as rumble of air conditioners). Finally, you can also use the VideoMic NTG as an external mic with your smartphone or computer via a USB-C port.

Deity V-Mic D3 Pro
Although Deity microphones aren’t as popular as Rode ones, the V-Mic D3 Pro is a great mic that has many of the features found on the NTG, yet it’s slightly more affordable. Of course, you aren’t getting every single feature found on the NTG (for example, there’s no safety channel) but you”re definitely getting a lot for your money.

Deity V-Mic D3
If you want a microphone that offers similar audio quality as the V-Mic D3 Pro and don’t need all the extra features like a rechargeable battery, gain-control dial and others, the V-Mic D3 is a great option. On top of that, it’s also more affordable as well as lighter. The mic is powered by a standard AAA battery that lasts for quite a while (about 160 hours of recording time). And while this mic doesn’t have many features found on the previous two models, we think it may be the best option for the X-E4 and is an excellent choice for YouTube videos or vlogging, for example.

Fuji X-E4 is an extremely compact camera (lightest in Fuji’s current lineup), so it makes sense to pair it with a very compact mic like the VideoMicro. Of course, this mic won’t sound as good as previous options but that is to be expected considering its price and size. What’s great is the fact that you don’t have to worry about batteries, as this mic is powered by the camera. If you want a setup that’s as small as possible and affordable at the same time, we definitely suggest going with Rode VideoMicro.
